Back to School Night: We will also use this as an opportunity to speak to our school community about our district’s mission, equity and access, accomplishments, and initiatives our district will undertake this year via our LCAP funds.
We will also be prepared to share the SBAC scores as those results are already in the public view and access.
We will also remember to collect our parent’s attendance at BTSN for reporting for our SPSA in alignment with LCAP.

September is Attendance Awareness Month!

In alignment with the national and state initiative Attendance Works, Lynwood Unified School District will participate in September Attendance Awareness Month 2016. Student attendance is a critical measure of student engagement that directly correlates to academic achievement and graduation. Starting in kindergarten and first grade, chronic absence (missing 10 percent of school for any reason during the academic year) is associated with lower levels of third grade reading, higher levels of suspension, and lower academic achievement in middle school. By middle and high school, chronic absence is a critical early warning sign that students will drop out. Chronic absence is a clear indication that students are off track and in need of intervention to get them on the right path to success.
