Hello  All,


  Today I will place five Gate nomination forms in your box. (Just send a runner  if you want more.)


   This is the procedure for filling out the form. In an effort to greatly simplify this process, you will NOT need to pull the student's CUM as in years past.

1. Fill out the form using information from Aeries, and  current AST 1,2
2. You may leave any information in part 2 not found in Aeries blank. (per Dr. Naranjo)
3. Complete part 3 
4. Attach a one page writing sample 
5. Obtain a parent signature
6. Place in my box no later than Dec 13, 2017 for Mr. Schmidt's review


With regards to 4th grade, only students who did not attend a LUSD school last year are eligible.

Also, the parents are permitted to nominate their own or someone else's child. I will hold a meeting next Tuesday Dec 5  at 3:15 to explain the process after school. A letter will follow. Although this this will be an open meeting it is mainly for the parents of non-GATE students. 

If you have questions or would like to meet briefly next Tuesday morning, I will be available.
