Hello Elementary Administrators,

As you know, each year a district wide "Countdown to Kindergarten" Parent Informational Meeting is held to highlight our Early Childhood Education, Transitional Kinder and Kinder programs in LUSD. This year, the district is requesting that each school conduct two parent informational meetings at the school site during January and February 2018. One meeting should be held in the morning; and one meeting should be held in the afternoon/evening to accommodate parents. Individual or site meetings will allow each principal an opportunity to highlight additional information about their school. This will also be an opportunity for new parents to visit the school. These meetings are typically about 60 - 90 minutes including questions/answers.

Student Services, Elementary Education, and ECE will provide a PowerPoint presentation of the essential information for the parent meetings. Each school will be able to add additional information to the PowerPoint. Each elementary administrator is receiving access to a Google Doc to schedule the morning and afternoon/evening Countdown to Kindergarten Parent Informational Meetings. Please enter your dates and specific time in the Google Doc.

VMA has a comprehensive plan to promote the parent meetings for each school. Consequently, we need each school's schedule of dates no later than Friday, November 17, 2017.
